Hi viewers!
I am Susan Chambers, an Australian
and author of TJ AND THE WINGED VISITOR, It is a young adult low fantasy
fiction. But I know because of feedback that many others are enjoying this
story as well.
I don’t know whether I am to greet
you as a viewer. This is my first ever blog. So, your feedback would be good.
If you are reading this, then I am
assuming that I am talking to competent tech savvy young people. Or the many
young at hearts that cruise the digital superhighways of this 21st century.
But that’s not me—not tech savvy or young.
So, I will begin with some
background information. When I went to school, I don’t think computers were on
the radar of life just yet. Microsoft did not come on the scene until 1975 and
Motorola released the first mobile phone in 1984, it weighed a kilogram and was
affectionately known as ‘The Brick’ and many wealthy people had to have it. After
they were out for a bit, we bought one of those. It looked like you were
carrying a thick book in a leather zipped case, only when the case was opened
there was the phone and battery. Much different to today’s models—we all have them,
and they are now compact.
Our first computer was a second-hand
Commodore 64, we only bought it because our daughter was attending a technical
college and there was a requirement that she do her assignments on a computer.
In the early 2000’s we bought a
Celeron intel inside and that was my first introduction to Word Processing. I
was an efficient typist, and this was an asset when I began to write stories.
As there can be many drafts to bring a manuscript to completion, the computers
I owned have had good workouts. As in the case of TJ AND THE WINGED VISITOR.
Sadly, I have not progressed far
past the original stage I began at, as technology is not easy for me, like
writing is. I get settled with one computer and then there is a change, and
these highly intelligent programmers send me reeling backwards, for there is so
much more to learn.
I am very thankful to know some
young guns, tech savvy’s who conquer all. Well done… all you many persons who
thrive in this technological age and make it look easy when changes are
regularly thrown at you.
Enjoy being young and energetic and
goal focused. Look after yourselves, make good choices and the world can be
your oyster or your pearl.
My attitude is, there is still so
much more to do and to experience, and I intend to enjoy something from every
day, even the ones that are most challenging to me. I am sure that you all have
those days—it is called doing life.
TJ AND THE WINGED VISITOR is an
inspiring story. I do hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
It has adventures and drama, it has humour and quirky characters, it has
supernatural themes, and it has love. I believe you will be inspired by this
